The first thing that changed wasn’t her baby..it was that moment.

She didn’t come to me because her baby couldn’t sleep

She came to me because nothing was holding

It would work…briefly
a better nap
a slightly easier bedtime

then something would shift
and she’d feel it straight away

that moment where you pause
and think…
“What am I supposed to do here?”

so you change something
just to get through it

and then you’re lying in bed wondering…
“Have I just made this worse again?”

That’s the part that was exhausting her
not just the nights
but not trusting herself while it was happening

The first thing that changed wasn’t her baby
it was that moment

the moment she would normally adjust…
and didn’t

and that’s when it started to hold
